Pantry Pests

Before Treatment:
The most important thing about treating for pantry pests is removing the source of infestation. When we buy food from the grocery store, often times there is already larva from some pest in the food we bring home. As the larva matures, adults will start to emerge from the food and make themselves known. Before we arrive, go through your pantry and look through all of your stored food for the source. Depending on the pest, you may find them in things like rice, flour, cereal, pasta, baby food, any kind of grains, peppers, dog and cat food, etc. Be thorough, because finding the source is the key to elimination. Once you find the source, put it aside for our technician to look at. Next, remove ALL items from the cabinets as we are going to spray in there to kill any existing adult pests. Depending on the pest, we may also use traps, the technician will go over this with you once proper identification of the pest is made. All people and pets will need to be out of the structure for two to four hours after treatment.

After Treatment:
Put all items back in the cabinets and keep an eye out for other foods that have been in your pantry for a while. We recommend throwing out food past its expiration date and keeping other foods sealed in plastic containers.
