The most common moth we get
called for is the Indian meal moth. This moth
is also known in our industry as a pantry pest. The
reason is, we find this moth infesting food in your
pantry. We have found them in baby cereal, crackers,
flour, grains, dried chili peppers and much more.
What happens is when you go to the grocery store,
you unknowingly bring these moths home in the larval
stage in one of the foods mentioned above and in a
few days to weeks they turn into moths. Then we get
a call that there are moths all over the kitchen and
they quickly spread to all over the house. When our
technician arrives, finding the source of infestation
is priority number one. Once we find this we remove
the source and treat for the adult moths in the house.
Another common moth we get call on is the clothes
moth. We treat this moth the same as the Indian Meal
Moth, we find the source (in this case the clothes),
pull them out and have you dry clean the items, then
treat for the adult moths by fogging. For a detailed
description on how to prepare your home prior to our
arrival click on preparation instructions tab above.
